A new strategy, using Cross Species Regulatory Network Analysis, resulted in the identification of two genes that play an important role in aggressive prostate cancer in both humans and mice. Alvares Aytes and colleagues of the Columbia University Medical Center in New York found that two genes, FOXM1 and CENPF, are always turned on in case of this deadly form of prostate cancer. The results were published in Cancer Cell this week.
